Dylan brings Christmas cheer to UK homeless

25/09/2009

Singer donates proceeds of festive album to Crisis

Bob Dylan is to feed the homeless in the UK this Christmas by donating the royalties from his new album to Crisis.

Christmas In The Heart – Dylan’s 47th album, but his first of Yuletide hits – will be released on October 12 and the royalties will be paid in perpetuity to Crisis UK and the World Food Pragramme.

Immediate donations made by Dylan will provide 15,000 meals to homeless people in the UK this festive season. His donations to the WFP will also provide 500,000 meals for children in the developing world.

Bob Dylan commented, “That the problem of hunger is ultimately solvable means we must each do what we can to help feed those who are suffering and support efforts to find long-term solutions. I’m honoured to partner with the World Food Programme and Crisis in their fight against hunger and homelessness.”
