Kilted to march for the homeless

Edinburgh to be covered in tartan for walk through city centre

A homeless charity
will attempt to cover Edinburgh in tartan for a day in a bid to raise funds.

The Rock Trust, a group working with young people across Edinburgh, says homelessness among 16-25 year-olds in the Lothian area has gone up 26% over the last 10 years.

In a bid to expand its work, the trust has organised a sponsored ‘Kilt Walk’ through the capital next month (August 22). Walkers will be handing out tartan sashes to anyone not decked out in the national colours. “It’s a great chance to raise awareness of all the problems out there,” said a Rock Trust spokesman.
