Poet laureate sells out book festival

Tickets for Big Issue event with Carol Anne Duffy gone already


Excitement is building
around The Big Issue in Scotland's events at this year's Edinburgh International Book Festival, with talks by leading writers already selling out.

The festival, from August 15-31, features the cream of Scots and international writing talent. A Big Issue-sponsored event with new poet laureate Carol Anne Duffy sold out on the first morning of public booking.

Other author-events include Irvine Welsh, Damned United author David Peace, children's laureate Michael Rosen, and the team behind hit kids' book Aliens Love Underpants.

Big Issue in Scotland editor said: "The authors we will be working with represent some of the best and brightest from the brilliant, broad scope of the programme."
